Hidden in the middle of busy Piccadilly you will find The Ham Yard Hotel and their surprising portfolio of rooms for private dining, entertaining and meeting. Private Dining London has been lucky enough to visit and get a taste of the hotel for ourselves this week.
As a Firmdale favourite, The Ham Yard Hotel boasts the modern interiors that bring the outside in by their floral, botanical prints in the sleeping quarters whilst the statement bold colours in the dining areas warms guests during their visit.
In terms of event spaces, incredibly, this Firmdale Hotel houses a bowling alley, a theatre with bar and three private dining room or meeting spaces. All spaces take a nod to the 1950s in style and décor which makes them classy, vibrant and fresh. There is also the opportunity to enjoy the hotel’s apartment rooms for a private dining event, party or drinks reception. We love that the apartments also have balconies fully equipped for the Summer and a resident-only roof terrace which was decorated magically upon our visit. The terrace can be hired for exclusive events too.
Recently we have been lucky enough to experience some of London’s best restaurant service and we were fortunate enough to enjoy the same standard at The Ham Yard Hotel upon our visit. Dining a la carte on this occasion we got a snippet of how the events dining menus are put together for guests. We chose one starter of pan fried scallops, celeriac purée, samphire and shellfish bisque which was light and flavoursome as well as a starter of Haddock soup of the day which was perfect to take off the Winter chill. My main course of Calf’s Liver was cooked extremely well and a large portion which is ideal for any larger appetites in the party and my guest’s Salmon & Crab Fishcake was equally generous. Their coconut crème brullée finished our dinner on a pleasing note.
From our experience of their menu, there is a little something for all types of guests whilst remaining delicious in their own right which will make easier work for any PAs or organisers that are unsure which set menu to choose on behalf of their guests. All rooms are based on a hire fee, which for some groups may be a bit disconcerting but the location matches the premium you would pay so keep this in mind. Full of classic cuisine, 1950s style and flexible options The Ham Yard Hotel was a delight to visit.
We did enjoy our meal Tim & Kit Kemp, thank you.
