New Year, New Food

January is upon us in London and we look at a selection of early 2017 restaurant openings in Southwark, Soho and St James's Market to set you off for a gastronomic year with Private Dining London!
Bala Baya, Arch 25, Old Union Yard Arches, 229 Union Street, London, SE1 0LR
Next week sees the soft launch of Bala Baya, Southwark’s new restaurant brought to the Southern borough by Israeli-born Head Chef Eran Tibi. This will be London’s celebration of Tel Aviv culture, food and style, which will be formed of two floors. The ground floor will reflect the fast-paced café culture and will have their open kitchen at its heart. The upstairs space will be a more formal dinner menu that will be served to the 76 covers when at maximum. The interiors have been created to reflect Tel Aviv’s Desert Bauhaus style and the kitchen features a custom-made pitta oven, which has been transported from Tel Aviv and will fill the spaces with the smell of freshly baked bread. These hand crafted pittas will complement the selection of slow cooked meats and stews. YUM! We are keeping our fingers crossed that the upstairs area will be available for private hire. With their long 16-person tables we are dreaming of the dinner parties already…
Aquavit, St James's Market, 1 Carlton Street, London SW1Y 4QQ
This year the London sister of New York’s 2 Michelin Star Aquavit is getting in full swing. The restaurant will bring all day contemporary Nordic cuisine alongside their specially designed interiors.
Most excitingly, there are two private dining rooms to choose from. The smaller of the two, The Copenhagen Room, accommodates maximum 14 guests on one amazing round table.
Do you have more than 14 guests? The Stockholm Room accommodates maximum 60 guests within its elegant and classy surroundings. In true Nordic style, both spaces include Bang & Olufsen AV equipment for meetings.

Six Storeys on Soho, 11 Soho Square, London W1D 3QE

Camm & Hooper, the experienced kids of London venue scene, bring the new kids to Soho Square. Opening this month, Six Storeys will offer 6 floors of unique themes and can accommodate 15 – 50 guests on each. Full to the brim with relaxed dining, private event spaces and elegant bars, we are already looking forward to stepping into Camm & Hoopers new home at number 11.
