Spotlight: Ladurée Covent Garden
“I LOVE their macarons!” That’s a line we’re all too familiar with when we talk about Ladurée. However, they offer much more than just French patisserie and now, at Private Dining London, want to shout about their private dining experiences across their London sites.
Ladurée offer private hire in two of their London locations, including their famous Harrods store Café and their charming Covent Garden restaurant. In prime tourist location, the Covent Garden site is tucked at the side of the market and is an indulgent choice for an afternoon tea-break for shoppers and sightseers. But as day turns to night Ladurée becomes a haven for diners looking for authentic French cuisine. They have a number of options for parties at Ladurée with the ability to hire three spaces; the charming “Traveller’s Tea Room” features a cosy fireplace, sofas and floral wallpaper and can take 12 guests, “The Artist Studio” is perfect for 10 guests and has a different style with Napoleon III-style padded seats and sculptures dotted around the room. If you prefer to venture outside and gaze down at the Covent Garden entertainment, we would recommend hiring “The Balcony Terrace” which can take up to 40 guests seated at a squeeze. Alternatively, hire the whole first floor for 90 guests seated or 100 standing. If you have this in mind, bear in mind that it isn’t one open space, the whole floor is a mixture of the above spaces.
They have a menu that includes their offering of sandwiches and range of delicious French patisserie. For private dining events, you can stick to this selection or you can opt for their dining offering. Classicly French, the dining menu features some delicious options for groups and parties including our choices of Fois Gras with Brioche and Smoked Salmon to start. For main course, we opted for a perfectly cooked steak frites and cod with vegetables, which featured some juicy mushrooms and end-of-summer greens. We just can’t resist dessert and choose an Ispahan (large macaron with lychee and rose) and a Plaisir Sucre (chocolate, hazelnut and cream cake). Perfect patisserie. Admittedly, the menu isn't very extensive for full dining with limited options for vegetarians on our visit but their events team can create menus to match your needs, just say!
Ladurée brings the finest French Patisserie talents to the London events market and we are excited by the opportunities of their Covent Garden private dining spaces. If you are looking for something boutique, delicious and quirky, one of the private dining room events space at Ladurée is the right place for you.
