January, Banking Hall Central London, event professionals at the ready!
Story Events host the London Summer Events Show to introduce the London events market to the hottest trends, suppliers and venues for the upcoming Summer season. We visited on Agency evening and we have our highlights for our readers near and far.
For anyone visiting the show it is evident that Summer 2018 will bring décor with a spread of colour and that the event industry is now welcoming some exciting social enterprise event suppliers into the mix.
Vibrant yellows, oranges, greens and blues inspire the show with their all-weather summer party theming. Long, coloured streamers deck the staircase balcony and multi-coloured umbrellas hang from above the main banking hall exhibition area. Illuminated dancers entertained guests and Doris Loves provided some cheeky temporary tattoos - both are simple ways to add a bit of glam fun to your events. Décor and styling suppliers including Event Prop Hire, presented brightly coloured prop ideas for the English garden party and British seaside theming whilst Hybrid flowers took on the yellow theme with a beautiful floral display. The team at GC Couture thrilled yet again at the show with their illustrious and decadent displays of colour through seaside themes and this year’s unicorn trend.
We’re impressed by Connection Crew and Change Please, two event suppliers with social enterprise at the heart. Connection Crew offer event support with staff that have experienced homelessness and Change Please, a coffee production company, employs homeless staff to train as coffee baristas and supports them get back into housing. Is this a trend we will see more of? Event suppliers giving back, we hope so!
In terms of venues, riverside locations are always the trend for Summer events, soirees and parties with the highlights at this year’s event coming from the beautiful Amber Lakes in Staines and The Bingham in Richmond, both enjoying waterside vantage points.
That’s a short round up from us – bring on the Summer!
