Spotlight: Pennyhill Park Hotel
This week Private Dining London took a break to London’s nearby county of Surrey and rested our heads on the fluffy pillows at Pennyhill Park to find out about their experiences for corporate and private event clients. With a number of event spaces with easy transport links, a myriad of bedrooms, a Michelin Starred restaurant and Europe’s second largest spa full of England Rugby players, Pennyhill Park has a little something for both male and female leisure and delegate guests.
There’s an entrance to remember; a long road into the estate, luxury cars being valeted and roaring fires welcome guests into their stay. There are five private dining rooms and event spaces for hosts to choose from, all ranging in size including capacity for 12 guests in the smallest private dining room The Brunswick, 90 guests seated in The Library, 50 in The Parkview and 240 guests in their large Balmoral Suite for gala dinners, wedding receptions and conferences. There is also a lovely outdoor pavilion for wedding ceremonies and extra special summer dining with friends. All rooms enjoy the history of the estate with matching grand interiors of oak panelling, chandeliers and natural light overlooking their beautiful grounds in all spaces.
The bedrooms are all fitting with the historical property and our room enjoyed beautiful views of the golf course and grounds. The rooms are luxurious for leisure guests whilst there are copious amounts of coffee, a working desk and laundry facilities for the working traveller.
The spa is the ultimate factor in Pennyhill Park’s label of “luxury”. The spa is very extensive in it’s offering and boasts a large 25 metre musical swimming pool and thermospa section with sauna, steam and pool experiences playing on the benefits of the cold and heat. Outside there are Canadian Hot Tubs, ice baths and a hydrotherapy pool. Should your guests stay at the hotel overnight they will be lucky enough to have full use of the spa facilities during their stay which is a real treat for all!
In terms of food, if you prefer relaxed dining there is The Brasserie which has a menu of English and Modern European classics whilst The Latymer offers Michelin Starred dining by Chef Mark Worswick. Both restaurants can serve the private dining rooms and The Latymer is housed within the oldest, original part of the hotel which is dark, historical and full of character. We chose to dine at The Latymer with their 5 course set Dinner menu alongside some delicious wines. The menu highlights for us included the oyster with frozen rhubarb, Hoggat with wild garlic and the passion fruit dessert. The starter and the dessert are served from the kitchen by the Chef’s themselves which we loved as we felt connected with the people behind the food by having the opportunity to ask questions and praise their work.
Our stay at Pennyhill Park was an overall delight with every detail having been thought out. The grandeur and characterful setting of the estate is welcoming for both corporate and private guests looking for events or for a leisurely trip whilst foodies will be very impressed by the selection and quality of their hospitality. We cannot wait to return for some tranquility, book us in!
