It’s September and for the event industry that means it is time for us to gather together and catch up as we all visit Venue & Events Live 2018!
Our team at Private Dining London have rounded up the top trends and highlights from this year’s show held at Old Billingsgate:
There appears to be a great deal of renovation, refurbs and redecoration in many of our favourite London venue spots with a keen eye on interior trends. We think this is a product of the restaurant and venues overall “experience” with food and drink now being equal to the décor and atmosphere of the venue. This is also evident in the type of new stock offered by furniture hire companies. It would seem that the use of social media and sharing experiences online has got everyone insta-focused! We’re excited for some private dining room refreshing.
CASUAL BAR GROUPS
We’ve noticed a growth in many of the London bar groups this year and there was an increase in exhibitor venues in line with this thinking. There seems to be growth in venues that focus on targeting corporate drinks parties and casual get-togethers. For these venues, the main offering is adventurous drinks menus alongside relaxed catering and party vibes.
As expected, we’ve seen an addition to events entertainment that goes beyond the flavours, smells and touch – technology! This includes Ipad caricaturing, pimped up experiential photobooths and even a company taking photographs of guests’ eyes for them to print or have emailed to them. We love seeing innovative ideas that can enhance everyone’s events with something a little different!
Yes, we had the usual overfilled-tote-bag-shoulder-cramp once we had left the show but we enjoyed seeing the treats and extras given out by the exhibitors which included gin & tonics, chocolate business cards, branded VIP keyrings, flavoured pop corns and some little plants to grow in your garden! Some of the treats have even been emailed to us to cut down on wastage which we appreciated.
So... that’s our Private Dining London highlights of the Venues & Events Live by Square Meal for 2018 and we hope this snapshot of the exhibition gives you a little insight into what is to come from the events industry this year!
